Catalunya to raise taxes on the rich

The Generalitat has decided to raise the taxes on taxpayers making more than 100,000 euros a year, of which there are supposedly only 50,000 (0.6% of the population).

What this translates to in real terms is that it raises taxes on salaried professionals, since business owners have more than enough ways to hide their true income and escape taxation.

Skilled professionals also tend to have the highest mobility, so working from Madrid will seem a bit more attractive.

Another thing to add to the long list of reasons for international companies to stay away from Barcelona.
