Is it a hen or a goose that laid the golden eggs?

In Spanish it’s a chicken (at least Google says that gallina wins over oca by 616,000 references to 4,630).

In French it’s “Poule”, which could be a chicken, a goose or other type of fowl.

In German, it’s a tie between chicken and goose.

The earliest Latin version appears to be a goose (anser).

Can you tell I’m procrastinating?

In Belgium/Holland it's hen...don't worry, not everyone can cope well with hot weather :-)
