Telefonica decides to move its call centers back to Spain

Finally!

You may have noticed that whenever you call Telefonica to complain about something (and there’s a lot of things to complain about), you usually get to talk to some Argentinian who has no clue about anything and no ability to actually do anything about your problem. This is due to the fact that you are talking to someone actually in Argentina, and Telefonica has such terrible internal systems that unless they have the ability to bypass them, there’s not much they can do.

Of course, it’s like Argentinians have the greatest reputation in Spain as people here seem to think that they are a country of liars, scam artists and drug importers.

One trick that I’ve learned is to always select “Catalan” as your language option and then just talk in Spanish. That way you get to talk to someone local, and they’re usually not mad at you for not knowing Catalan.
